Rosalynn - WIP 02

After many, MANY hours of studying references, lighting patterns, clothing, experimenting with brushes and checking out numerous artists' livestreams, I think I FINALLY found a style that I like and have my brushes mostly down. As you can see, I'm finally making progress. For the past few weeks (months?) I hadn't made any progress on this drawing, mostly because I didn't know what I wanted. I didn't know what style I wanted to use and didn't know what my own style was. So, yesterday I finally made a breakthrough in my endless and arduous painting experimentation, and got back to work! I managed to do most of her skin already, and to tell you the truth, I'm actually quite pleased with myself. It was all flats yesterday and managed to get most of her skin done last night. It actually doesn't take too long once I've got my method down. It's figuring out my style that took FOREVER!!! So yeah, not bad, so far, for my first time ACTUALLY painting on my Bamboo, I think. It still looks too flat, so I'll be adding some highlights and shadows later.
